Abstract
Copper-nitrogen catalyst was synthesized by the direct carbonization of the copper complex on the zeolitic imidazolate framework (ZIF-8). The catalytic activity of the carbonized material was evaluated by the synthesis of propargylamines via the A3 coupling reaction of aldehydes, arylacetylene, and secondary amines under the solvent-free (SV) condition and in a short time. Furthermore, the synthesized hollow catalyst displayed a favorable catalytic activity for the reduction of the nitroarenes to anilines in the presence of sodium borohydride (NaBH4) as a reducing agent. The synthesized nanostructures can be easily reused for seven consecutive reaction runs without a considerable decrease in the catalytic activity.
